I first heard about this band and song and music video from the Pop Jew. The Pop Jew has solid taste in music and recognized me on her blog for my cunning computer room performance of “I Am A Girlfriend.”
Never mind that, though. Check out this band PUJOL. Not like Albert Poo-Hole, but rather like Daniel Poo-Joe. They are from Nashville, Tennessee and they play fun power pop-ish punx and his junx kind of music. So definitely give a check out to this video, which is pretty new. Then, if you are impressed, head over to their MySpace and listen to more of their tunes.
Why is “pop” music today so depressing? I just saw a Rihanna music video and it’s so damn stale that I can’t take it seriously. It’s a joke. Nobody gives a shit about music or music videos that much to actually take interest in watching this piece of crap. Do they? Same with Lady Gaga. I’m sure her music videos are over the top filled with craziness. Are these videos for real?
New Split 7″ The world’s spiciest duo, King Khan and Bloodshot Bill offer a currified romper of Gomper (clocking in at 5:09 – the exact time of the Stones version!) on this New Dehli platter! All they ask in return is that you please remove your shoes. Turn it over and dig Scotland’s least likely hit makers as they blaze through everyone’s favorite Nanker Phelge floor packer!
Rock and Roll Immortality! Rock and Roll emerged as a way for kids to rebel against their parents and their beliefs. As time went on, Rock died a slow corporate death. In the ashes of this tragedy, the rebellion was revived with Punk Rock. The Ramones, the greatest practicioners of the uprsing, brought Rock and Roll back to the youngsters and pretty soon they had something of their own, something that existed outside of the mainstream. Thus, without the constraint of corporate control, the fun and rebel rousing of the initial Rock boom can live forever through independent music. Thank God for Punk!
