Blog Recommendation: Bored Out
Lost Sounds – Black Wave (2001)
Bored Out is an incredible little blog, tumblr, err what have you. If you eat up the slime we rep on this site then you’ll faint when you see this shit. BO is run by a dude named Ryan Leach and includes concert photos, reviews, and best of all in depth interviews with the likes of Mark Sultan, Eric Friedl, Greg Cartwright, Jeffrey Novak, and even one with Jay Reatard from 2006. Speaking of Jay, Ryan recently published a Lost Sounds oral history, which I can’t recommend enough for fans and non fans alike. It does a terrific job of illustrating how bands like The Reatards and Lost Sounds were much more than mere stepping stones to Jay’s solo career. Well done Ryan.
Read it all here, it’s addictive: http://boredout305.tumblr.com/

The Big Take Over Reviews Nice Guys/Miami Doritos Splifft 7″
“Lovely chunk of burning slime from one of my Boston area faves Nice Guys and new kids Miami Doritos . The Miami Doritos side chugs like a bit of desert in the basement punk slam, exciting as shit to jump around to. Nice Guys pull out their deceptively tough chops in a multilayered shred on “Jamaican Vacation” and the completely nurts “Medical Envy”. All this good on sexy green or purple vinyl, which I have yet to see cause these stoners haven’t sent me one yet.” – Matt Lee, The Big Takeover
Big thanks to Matt Lee for writing about the Nice Guys/Miami Doritos Splifft 7″! Check out the rest of his top ten list here: http://www.bigtakeover.com/top-ten/Matt-Lee-140518

Music Vid: Robot Death Kites – “No Thanks”/ New EP
After a long, tiring, mind numbing work week I could use a band like Robot Death Kites. Fast, heavy, sludgy PUNK. Blistering anti-establishment that will knock fat corporate ogres flat on their fat fucking asses. Above is the band’s new music video for “No Thanks,” a song from their upcoming EP Yuppie Nightmare, which you can pre order here: http://robotdeathkites.bandcamp.com/
The EP release show is at Shea Stadium (Brooklyn, NY) on Saturday, June 7th. Sleep tight.
