Bunker Hill Race Distribution
Okay, so this survey does have some degree of error. Like…people might be multi-racial or maybe I was flat-out wrong in my observation. Anyway, here are the results for a twenty minute observational session of students at Bunker Hill Community College who walked passed me on the lower level.
BHCC Statement: Students of color comprise over 50% of student population.
My Observations
Total: 89 students
Black: 24 students (27%)
White: 36 students (40%)
Asian/Indian: 23 students (26%)
Hispanic: 6 students (7%)
My Conclusion: Students of color comprise 60% of student population.
Sultan To Tour W/ Black Lips?!

Oh the humanity! I’m back in Montreal from another tour! It was a lot of fun, aside from overstated shit. Great to play with Those Darlins and Dum Dum Girls. Sometimes prefab hype caught up with us and people who don’t care about music judged us for not being ‘crazy’ enough – glad you don’t like it. Sometimes we were just bummed and tired, though. I wanna thank everyone for supporting us and having fun. The shit that went down in KY really put us through the ringer financially, as friends and as a band and happened not as you think, no matter what you read from whomever’s lips or fingers. Really. I’m mostly sad not everyone saw us play with entertainer, ‘Leo Chips’. That was fun and just starting to work. The ‘show’ was finally starting to come together (hence the name, ‘The King Khan & BBQ SHOW’). Oh well. But there is good news – a lot of people enjoy the new KKBBQ album, ‘Invisible Girl’. Thanks so much! We’ll try to tour again or make up lost dates sometime in the future. My new album, entitled ‘$’ is coming out sometime soon. No idea when. Or how, at this point, but I do know that there was one song from it – Nobody But You – floating around… Maybe the In The Red myspace page? Speaking of In The Red, they put out a new single of mine a few weeks back: ‘I Am The End’ b/w ‘Catastrophe’. These are non-LP versions. The new Bloodshot Bill & Mark Sultan album is done! It took a while to iron out the last mixes or whatever,more than a year in the making, but it will be out soon on Norton Records. Tours: The King Khan & BBQ Show will be in Europe in February. Dates coming soon. The Almighty Defenders will be playing sporadically at festivals in both the US and Europe from now until the summer, and both bands will tour together with Black Lips in around May for one fun European jaunt. Keep your eyes peeled. I will also be on tour, hopefully, in the US opening for the Black Lips. With my new band. Standing and singing the whole time. More rockers and dancers. Do I really mean kill all males?! Maybe…. Of course not! Nor do I seriously advocate the extermination of all white human beings as I endorsed in an earlier post. That was simply my brand of mericiless satire, y’all should be immune to by now. So, what are my actual views? Well, speaking seriously, I am 100% against dominance, whether it be male dominance over females, which I see all the time or white domiance over black people, which is also far too prevalent. Sometimes, I may jokingly say I’m anti-male or anti-white, but that’s just to piss off the racist/sexist fucks. I don’t label myself as a feminist and I would not necessarily say I’m pro-black, I’m not pro anyone. Everyone sucks! This ain’t PC Pussy shit either. I also do not claim to be an expert in race or gender relations. Far from it. I know my kind the best: white, male, bougeoise, swine of Amerikkka. I understand our postion and role in Babylon and I’m against it and I think it should deteriate, as it slowly is. I developed said convictions from reading many Black Liberation Fighters and more importantly from the observations (of mostly vanilla folks) I make on a day-to-day basis. So, I’d love to stay and babble on and on, but I gotta go save lives. Peace out beautiful men and women of the world!

I love Christmas, plain and simple. It’s my favorite holiday. No, not for the sharing of joy, and spirit, not for celebrating some dude’s birthday (can’t remember the guy’s name), and certainly not for seeing some fat fuck lodge his holly, jolly ass in my chimney. No, rather, I adore all the little doo das that are packaged with this season. At first glance, y’all that know me, must be screaming to yourselves, “WTF?! WHAT HAS THIS WORLD COME TO?!” But, don’t bash your pathetic, worthless skulls through your computer screens, just yet. It’s not like I’m hawking Dr. Pepper *cough Mr. NWA. Mr. Dr. Dre. Gangsta* Anyway, I think if one carefully plucks out the good, the bad, and the ugly, you can still maintain some politico aficionado dignity. So, yeah I’m mostly anti-consumerism and anti-corporate, but I must say I have an affinity for the GOOD Christmas specials, films, songs, decorations, traditions, etc. that make Christmas Christmas, that is the commercialized Chri$tmas, not that guy’s birthday, whoever he was… So, like everything else in life, I have mastered the task of weeding out the bad and especially the ugly and preserving the good ( a must see Christmas list will appear as a future post). To wrap up (no pun intended lol) this little, somewhat aimless, rant, I’d like to mention that a major beef of mine about Christmas is the way it’s pushed on consumers sooo early. I for one, do not begin my Christmas splurge until the day after Thanksgiving, in which Christmas With Johnny Cash rocks into heavy rotation until the Twenty-Fifth of December. Anything before this is wayyyy too early. Satan’s little helpers market Christmas the day after Halloween, if not before then. Thanksgiving is merely a break between the jamming of Christmas down your throat, squirting out red and green blood under the mistletoe.

It’s just too bad, for every “Animal Party” or ill-fated game of “Spin the Bottle” and well-placed anatomical guffaw there’s one too many tunes that just go through the motions, and old ones at that. Still, the tunes on Invisible Girl work, because Khan and Sultan’s love of the music they’re ripping off is obvious and infectious, and because they’ve got a knack for capturing the feel of the records they’re taking cues from most throwbacks can’t quite muster. Sam the Sham would be proud; that is, if he’s cool with dick jokes.
Since when can you praise an album and then call the songs you just praised “tunes that just go through the motions?” The reviewer, Paul Thompson, is terribly confused and was forced to not give the album anything above an 8. He gave it a 7.1. Which means nothing. It’s just a number.
Marketing = Anti-Market
Marketing is anti- free market. I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently and I’ve found only one other guy that has willed to write about this subject online. Here is a portion of his rant:
“A capitalist system consists of a producer and an INFORMED consumer. As I said before, advertisements are increasingly informing less and marketing image more. This allows companies to maintain a monopoly of image contrary to the blindness of market forces. What do I suggest to remedy the situation? Do as they do for drug advertisements in Australia, set up a governemnt advisary board to regulate advertisements to limit them to purely or at least primarily substance based. This would not only create a more informed consumer, but it would get rid of all those bullshit, “buy this kitty litter cause it’ll get you laid” commercials. And that’s good for everyone.” LINK
What’s happening is consumer rights are being violated due to the forces of marketing and its presence in public spaces. I don’t mind advertisements on private property (example: storefront signs advertising low prices), but things like billboards and commercials are invasive and create artificial demand, just like the Federal Reserve creates artificially low interest rates. Both are anti-free market. Anti-saving. Pro-consumption. Pro-spending.
