Music Vid of the Day: The Beets- “I Think I Might’ve Built a Horse”
One of the best songs, bands, and videos of twenty elven. Some real fucking music is brewing in Jackson Heights that’s for sure.
P.S. I love the home movie style of this video!
The Barbaras on TV!
Bit of a flashback video here. Footage of Memphis legends and future Magic Kids members, The Barbaras, playing the classic “Flow,” followed by a brief interview. The audio is pretty shitty, but still I thought this was a neat little ditty, worthy enough for the wolrd to see. Unfortunately, no Stephen Pope or Billy Hayes, off rocking and rolling with Jay!
Henry Rollins on Morrissey
Hahahaha! Poor Morrissey! I am fan of both Rollins and Morrissey, but I just found this too hilarious not to post.
“The reason I picked Morrissey, because, in my opinion, Morrissey just embodies every horrible trait that a human being could possibly possess.”

BOTW: The Orwells

Band of the Week is one of my favorite parts of KLYAM because it gives us a chance to constantly promote a band; you can’t come on here and not come across these bands. They’re always there! Great bands all of the time and this week is no exception, but they are exceptional, no doubt. The Orwells are perhaps the coolest-youngest band I have seen. Seriously, these guys have incredible potentional. They are only teenagers and they play real rock and roll and do it better than most jokers five or ten years their senior. Check these Elmhurst, IL natives out right now!
Listen To Colleen Green Play Live On WMBR’s BoC

I woke up to the great news that Colleen was playing on Breakfast of Champions 88.1 WMBR, so I tuned in, of course. I missed a lil bit of her set/chatter, but ’cause WMBR is pretty sweet, it allows you to listen to past programs right after they are finished. So that’s what you should do, if you missed it or better yet want to listen again. It’s just Colleen and her guitar and it sounds fantastic.
Set [Begins @ 1 HR, 15 MIN]
“I Wanna Be Degraded”
“Only One”
“Mike”
“Darkest Eyes”
“Worship You”

Some Old Jay Reatard Vids
It’s been nearly two years since Jay Reatard left this world. Time seems to be flying. When I first heard Jay in 2008, little did I know he’d become one of my favorites. Little did I know that I’d end up seeing him perform three times. I still need to watch Better Than Something. Hopefully, it gets released on DVD, or at least shown on the big screen in Boston.
[LINK] This video is from a Jay Reatard band practice in 2007. It includes a couple Blood Visions classics, an early take on “Always Wanting More” (Selling your coke or telling your joke, they always want something more from you), and an unreleased song, presumably titled “OH OH OH OH”.
Below is the official music video for “My Family”. Just kidding. Well, kind of. It’s a Mike Long video. It was removed from his original YouTube channel (along with every other of his great videos), but before that happened Jay actually saw it and liked it. In fact, he sent it as ‘thee music video’ to some zine.
