Hey, it’s No Age!
Well, in a rare instance, this post is mostly reserved for the opening band, Jay Reatard.
Hopes: Jay plays all of my favorites, plays for an hour, and his new crew sounds infinitely better than his last band, whom were entertaining and talented in their own right. And for the Pixies, I hope they put on the best show I’ve ever seen and play all my non-Doolittle, favorites.
Expectations: Jay and gang have better chops than his previous band mates, but aren’t as amazing as I suggest above. Seeing them live will be fun, but not the same experience as the previous show at Harpers Ferry, because we will be seated and what not. He will play a good amount of my favorites. The Pixies’ performance will be top notch and the show will enter my top 5 or at least top 10. They will play at least a few of my non-Doolittle favorites.

See Saw/Hammer I Miss You
This video is from Monday when the trio played at the Hammerstein Ballroom NY, which is by all accounts comparable to the House of Blues Boston in capacity. The Wang fits about 1,000 more people and is seats only. Y’all know what I realized? Jay’s probably going to play his set just as if he was headlining.
1 WEEK SUCKA!!!
That’s right, in exactly one week, Glen, John, Paul, and I will witness the Supreme Genius of The Pixies, not to mention, supporting act, Jay Reatard and his new crew, whom apparently have more chops than his former band mates. Anyway, The Pixies are playing their 1989 magnum opus, Doolittle in its entirety at the Wang Theater!
But wait…. before then, Glen, Paul, and I will experience the Supreme Genius of Sonic Youth in just two days!

It’s a Reatarded name for a post, but I’m playing on the word “creep” which in any of its forms often appears in Jay’s lyrics and it’s also a play on the name of the song mentioned in the video; a good tune at that.

1 WEEK!
Children of the KLYAM, in exactly one week Glen and I will be attending the Sonic Youth concert at the Wilbur Theatre! Yes, I know you’re envious. Well, to make you even more fucked in the head, totally outta your mind, crazy, a mere five days later we will witness the glorious Pixies, as the below post notes. And with opening acts like The Feelies and the one and only Jay Reatard, all time favorite shows could and should be expected!
P.S. Kim is sexy in that pic. Yeah, I know she’s like my mom’s age. So what? Excuse me for having blood pumping through my veins!
