No frillz punk rock that’s like the retired Floridian community’s “California Boys” or if you really want to get eclectic, “California Gurls.” From a split with Nobunnz.
The one Jay song included on there is a remastered version of “There Is No Sun,” which as you all know was released in 2009 on Watch Me Fall. The blog post says that the artists agreed to have the royalties donated to some good charities. I’m not sure how Jay agreed to that, but it happened.
Radiohead has released a live “dvd” of a concert in Prague as taken from the view point of fans’ cell phones. The footage was taken and compiled into a movie. The film is for download is multiple formats completely free of charge. Thanks Radiohead!! The link is: http://radiohead-prague.nataly.fr/
The deal with the Paradise is that they shifted the stage, knocked down some of the walls that separated the hallway leading to the real entrance, and made the green rooms more band-friendly. At any rate, the place is bigger (capacity-wise) and less awkward.

Mark just posted a slew of things on his newly re-designed website:
1. His new song “Calloused Hands,” which is reminiscent of the greatness of $. Speaking of that…
2. $ should be out on vinyl in record stores sometime in September.
3. There’s a Vimeo video for “Status,” which keeps getting banned from YouTube.
4. An explanation about the last days of The King Khan & BBQ Show. A couple of months back, I posted what Mark briefly clarified, but he details what exactly transpired.
5. The Jumbo Lions. An evolution of The King Khan & BBQ Show, or in Mark’s words: “A new, hyper-surrealist, psychedelic, rock’n’roll mindfuck…”
And finally:
BBQ is playing October 17 in Boston at the Homegrown Fest. The huh? Exactly. Apparently it’s a 21+ festival that takes place at a venue called Church. It’s a one off a thing, I gather.
It’s been a year and a half. It feels longer, but at the same time, it doesn’t feel that long.
At any rate, I haven’t seen No Age since April 2, 2009. That’s far too long. They’ve got a new album coming out September 28. Get at that. Everything In Between is the title.
Most importantly, Dean, Randy, and the other dude are in town on November 16. They’ll be at the Middle East Downstairs, a choice venue. It is my favorite place to see a show after all and has vegan goodies for the dudes. It’s all ages gig, too! It’s a Tuesday night.
Unless there’s another Box Elders in Nebraska, the Box Elders that KLYAM knows and loves will be providing polka music at the American Legion Hall in Tobias, Nebraska this Saturday, August 21.
I can’t imagine this happening just as much as I can’t imagine another Nebraskan band choosing to name themselves Box Elders. That’s blasphemous…even if from a polka act!
A good question to have asked any member of Black Lips in the past three weeks or so would have been: “How’s the next record coming along?”
What’s for sure is that it won’t include “Before You Judge Me” or “Best Napkin I Ever Had.” What’s also for sure is that the as of now untitled LP is done. Thanks to Ian for the public information. And he’s promised that it will be released in February of 2011, a good two years since 200 Million Thousand hit shelves.
