Damn, I must say Ian looks great at the center of the stage! Nice voice, nice sound all around really. Glad to see such a sick band on national television.

Lastly, below is an excellent video of the Fat Creeps playing several classics and giving an amusing and informative interview on Cambridge Community Television. Enjoy.
Best Coast- “The Only Place” on Letterman
I’m really starting to get into the new album. It’s called The Only Place check it out. I can’t wait to see Best Coast this summer!
Greatest Moment in Television History!
“Man, I can’t believe this!”
Haha, I was thinking the same thing. This just makes me want to try every drug known to man.
Quote of the Day: Moses on Pete and Pete

“I’m not sure if it’s nostalgia or if it’s actually good—I’ll go out on a limb and say it’s good. I love it.”*- Moses Archuleta, drummer for Deerhunter on “The Adventures of Pete and Pete,” but inadvertantly explaining how I feel about the 90s in general.

Indeed it was a great show and I love it too!
* This quote is taken from L.A. Record’s interview with Moses/Deerhunter. Here’s a link: http://larecord.com/interviews/2007/04/12/deerhunter-there-was-noise-and-it-was-cool
Good Music In Commercial Sighting: Davila 666 (Taco Bell)

Puerto Rican greats Davila 666 are gaining more recognition — this time via a Taco Bell commercial!!! The song is “Obsesionao,” off Tan Bajo (In The Red, 2011). This isn’t their first audio commercial appearance — you all might recall that Northface one that featured “Basura”. Hopefully 2012 brings some more Davila 666 to this area of the country.
Watch the commercial , listen to the song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ire_n4Nz3uc&feature=youtu.be&hd=1
Some Excellent Recent Dave Letterman Performances
Last night, Wild Flag performed “Romance”. I haven’t gotten a chance to listen to their debut album, but I do plan on getting on that soon. I really dig this song. It reminds me of a more melodic/pop-ish Angry Angles and that extremely addictive part of the song, beginning “Hands down we like” sort of reminds me of that part in “Trapped Here,” — “Relax, relax, relax, my little victim” [CLICK HERE TO WATCH]
And then one week ago, Black Keys did a real rocking performance of “Gold On The Ceiling,” which is on El Camino, which was just released. [CLICK HERE TO WATCH]
The Barbaras on TV!
Bit of a flashback video here. Footage of Memphis legends and future Magic Kids members, The Barbaras, playing the classic “Flow,” followed by a brief interview. The audio is pretty shitty, but still I thought this was a neat little ditty, worthy enough for the wolrd to see. Unfortunately, no Stephen Pope or Billy Hayes, off rocking and rolling with Jay!
Henry Rollins on Morrissey
Hahahaha! Poor Morrissey! I am fan of both Rollins and Morrissey, but I just found this too hilarious not to post.
“The reason I picked Morrissey, because, in my opinion, Morrissey just embodies every horrible trait that a human being could possibly possess.”
My Christmas Must Sees!

Glen Maganzini (left), Chris DeCarlo (right)
Okay, so I do this annually and if this looks similar to the post I made last year that is because it is! well, for the most part- not much has changed. Here we go:
Films (in no particular order):
1) It’s A Wonderful Life (1946)
2) A Christmas Story (1983)
3) Home Alone (1990)
4) National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)
5) A Christmas Carol (in any of it’s versions, specifically 1951. I usually attend the play, as I will be Saturday night; one of the few plays I enjoy seeing)
6) The Santa Clause (1994)
7) Edward Scissorhands (1990) (okay, so only towards the end of the film this is applicable, but for me it gets me in the mood)
8) The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) (I suppose this is more apropos for Halloween)
9) Bad Santa (2003)
10) Die Hard (1988)
TV:

7) Frosty The Snowman (1969)
8) It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia: A Very Sunny Christmas (2009)
9) A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)
10) SNL– various skits
Literature:
A Christmas Carol By:Charles Dickens (1843)
A Story A Day Till Christmas Various Authors (1985)
The Catcher in the Rye By: J.D. Salinger (1951)
I usually end up viewing (or reading for that matter) only half of these! But, either way, I have a lot of work to do and I recommend others to watch/read them too. I would recommend music, but that will take too long. I’ll save it for another day. To kick things off, here’s Kyle’s Christmas ballad, “I’m a Jew on Christmas” from the South Park classic “Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo” (1997).
