I can’t wait for the album! It’s called Hairdresser Blues and will be released on Hardly Art on February 28th.
Also, in similar news, Hunx and His Punx (the whole band, not this solo effort) will be hitting up Boston on Monday, April 2 at the Radio in Sommerville!
That’s right folks, the one and only Bradford Cox aka Atlas Sound is making a stop at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on Thursday March 8! Just like Smith Westerns, who I will be seeing this Sunday, Atlas Sound is one of the top current artists that I am dying to see live. Pitchfork just released the tour information today:

02-19 Tokyo, Japan – Hostess Club Weekender
02-24 Los Angeles, CA – Eagle Rock Centre for the Arts
02-25 San Francisco, CA – Bimbo’s 365 Club
02-28 Seattle, WA – Neumo’s
02-29 Vancouver, British Columbia – Biltmore Cabaret

03-04 Cleveland Heights, OH – Grog Shop
03-06 Toronto, Ontario – Lee’s Palace
03-07 Montreal, Quebec – Cabaret 03-08 Boston, MA – Paradise Great way to end the tour!
Here’s a live video I recently viewed of my favorite Atlas Sound song, “Artificial Snow.” I know I’m a little behind and I’m sure Christmas is the last thing on everyone’s mind, but nonetheless this is a great performance from Bradford.
Today is John Belushi’s birthday and if he were alive today he would be 63. Sadly, he died thirty years ago today. RIP and Happy Birthday!
I love the Black Flag shirt! He was a big fan and tried to get them on SNL like he did for Fear. Belushi and old school punk rock always makes a great combo.
This song is dedicated to anyone out there that supports SOPA or PIPA, or any other Constitution violating law. I will not be a happy camper if the government blacklists KLYAM.
As we close 2011, we celebrate the bands that made it special and Shannon and The Clams is certainly one of them. That is why they are this week’s Band of the Week. Check out their album Sleep Talk, it’s nuts! I really want to see this band live.
I know this is three months old, but I am just hearing it for the first time now. It is an interesting interview/Q & A session, but I wish there were more people asking questions that had a bit more knowledge about the subject matter beforehand OR was a fan of the undeground bands/scene that inspired Nirvana. What I like the most is hearing about all the amusing anecdotes that only the people present for the making of the album could tell you. Parts 2-7 are also available on You Tube.
On December 17, Bill Hicks would have turned 50 years old. Sadly, he passed away of pancreatic canceer at the age of 32, but his legacy is growing bigger and bigger each year. Kudos to Keith Olbermann for this special report. For what Bill stood for (or more appropriately stood against) having his material and his ideas presented on a national news station in America means a lot. RIP Brother.
