This is a band that needs more loving and maybe has a fallen a bit victim to Memphis side project syndrome. Their album Magnetic Mountain (2010, Goner) is a 19 song marathon.

KLYAM Mentioned In PORK
A great honor to be in the Magazine of Rock & Roll America. A fitting combination, I’d say, right You and Me? Anyway, check out a copy online here: http://issuu.com/seangoblinko/docs/pork6 and if you have great clubs/DIY spots that carry the magazine then pick up a physical copy. Here is a link to the PORK website: http://internetpork.com/
New Black Lips Single: “Sick Of You”

Featuring two Arabia Mountain leftovers, “Sick Of You” and “Dance With You”. You can download the latter (HERE). Not quite a top Lips number in my book… maybe it will take some growing. Who knows?
Last year around this time the Lips were trekking across the US. It doesn’t appear they will be doing that anytime soon. June or July, maybe if we get lucky. Otherwise, not for a while! Here is a link to their tour schedule for the next few months: http://www.vicerecords.com/vicerecords/tours.php
A Flash From The Past: Black Lips Playing “Veni Vidi Vici” Live
Here’s something you won’t see in 2012 for better or worse depending on your perspective ~
The audio is from the studio version/video from a show…you get the point!
Hear More NOBUNNY! “At The Mall”

Wouldn’t it be something if this trend continued. A new Nobunny track every few days? Well, KLYAM would love that as I’m sure everybunny else would the same. God bless the charitable Nobunny! This one is brief, but unrelenting. Not for punks! Yes for KLYAMers.
Stay tuned for more Nobunny, including a new LP on Goner in just a few months !!!
An Interesting Thought
I was just thinking (and have thought before) that it would have been an awesome thing to be into the music that I love now circa 2006/2007/2008. But at the same time, it would have been a bummer to miss out on so many great 18 and 21+ plus shows. So with that, it seems like a natural progression that I moved on (not completely, though) from bigger sounding rock and roll bands like Editors, Peter Bjorn and John, and The Libertines to lesser known, dirtier sounding/rock n roll and punk (no need for examples, just look around KLYAM). These past three years or so have been positively amazing in terms of music experiences and I’m sure it’s only going to get better as time passes. Don’t waste your youth, Kids!
Check Out Harlem’s Curtis Omara’s Band: Grape St.
Been wondering what Harlem has been doing lately? Well drummer/guitarist/songwriter/vocalist Curtis Omara has this cool band, Grape St. Harlem people will dig it and it definitely has a different perspective on things than Harlem (albeit in a minor way).

Band Recommendation: KETAMINES!

Great production and the overall ‘sound’ of a record can really do wonders in getting a man/woman hooked to music. Well, the immediacy of Ketamines explosion is outstanding. I compare them to The Hussy in this regard. From the second you click play or drop the needle, you know you are in for high voltage fun. The guitars are a la Jay Reatard and bands of that nature and the vocals are full of reverb and echo. Typical you’d think. But, there are a bunch of other little sound effects/extra layers of instrumentation that do indeed separate Ketamines from most rock n roll/punk outfits. Extra notable examples: “Teenage Rebellion” and “Midnight Dawn.” Check out their LP Spaced Out (Southpaw/Mammoth Cave). Ten tracks of 2-3 minutes of fun a pop. Look for them around your neck of the woods when they tour the US in May and June.

Hear “La La La La Love You” From Nobunny’s New Single!
Coming out in May via Suicide Squeeze Records!
Meet The Supreme Genius –> KING KHAN
I feel like this might slip past a lot of radars since it was made for a Greek music festival [Plissken], but it’s truly a well-done piece highlighting the personality of Khan. Also, there’s old footage of the Black Lips recording Let It Bloom. Watch it. It’s neat.
