Song of the Day: “Age of Consent” (New Order)
Heard this one for the first time on Friday. It very much stuck out to me as sort of an in between of the New Order song “Temptation” and anything from the Spaceman 3 catalog.
SOTD By The New BOTW: Bleached !
Here’s “Electric Chair,” which I mentioned in my review of their performance from Sunday. Once again, great band, look forward to hearing more of their material!
SOTD: “No Time To Be 21” (Adverts)
In honor of my upcoming turning of age:
KLYAM is off to a slow start (post-wise), do not fret or cry, though. Some great content is sure to be coming. Always does.
Link Wray – Black River Swamp [1971]
Been missing out on Link Wray. Not an old-time musician to miss out on.
Song of the Day: Lovely Bad Things – “I Just Want You To Go Away”
Live at the Galaxy Theater! Awesome band…check out their SoundCloud for more tunes! And their website and Facebook. Also, there’s this interview I just stumbled upon, which really shows just how enthusiastic this band is.
SOTD: “The Great Escape” – The Rifles
Long live the Rifles! This sounds like a song that would be in FIFA.
Old Tyme SOTD: “Beg For Love” – Plan 9
Way Back SOTD: electric eels – “You Crummy Fags”
The greatest U.S punk band ever!
Just kidding, but this is easily one of the most initially catchy (’70s) songs that I’ve heard in a while.
Very Very Underrated – The Ponys – “Double Vision”
The Ponys are, yes, quite underrated. They did some touring with Black Lips in 2007, released albums on In The Red and Matador, and have had some songs appear in commercials and video games. Still, though, I (and others as evidenced in YouTube comments) feel they’ve been under-appreciated. Here’s to hoping good fortunes to The Ponys.
