Australia’s sunshine state is a veritable breeding ground for this surfy garage pop sound, and the lads from DUNE RATS are killing it. Hooking up a slew of international supports as well as throwing down at a handful of east coast parties, they just scored a slot at The Big Day Out, Australia’s premier home grown festival (and somewhat of a right of passage for Aussie bands). They have an EP on Bandcamp (its only $6 chump) featuring POGO, a song that has given them some much deserved attention. Here’s the video, filmed at the Mt Gravatt quarry in Queensland, fuck it rips!

The G’est of all G’s, Ian St. Pe, has a video out now for “Movin’ On Up,” one hell of a song that has been around for a while now. According to Filter, he is working on a Fixed Focus album. That’ll be nice, of course. But yeah, check on this video, it’s just about what’d you expect from the man:
Oklahoma fuzz freaks The Boom Bang have made yet another music video. If you recall some months back I posted their video for “Tobacula” and that was just good ole weird. This one follows suit in that department. Just look at the song title. Too crazy for MTV, too crazy for local access television.
Now this is a good one, not only because I am a big fan of both bands, but because Guns N’ Roses and the Rolling Stones are universally considered to be two of the greatest bands in rock and roll history (for me top ten). The song is “Sympathy for the Devil” by the Rolling Stones.
With the Arctic Monkeys embarking on another North American tour and a new album coming out, I figured now would be a good time to check out their latest song “Brick by Brick”
I am really digging it and am hopeful for the new album.
