Flashback: Nobunny Live In Berkley (7/12/08)
Thanks to the huffingduster You Tube channel here’s a video of Nobunny performing a solo set at a house show in Berkley, CA on July 12, 2008. Damn, I’d love to see a Nobunny house show! Shannon and the Clams and The Ears were also on the bill.
KLYAM-003: Back Pages “Singles 13”!

We’re beyond proud to bring you the third release on KLYAM Records from Orlando, FL’s Back Pages – the musical mastermind of seventeen year old KC Allen. Singles 13′ is a collection of KC’s first five albums on Bandcamp.
I first heard Back Pages last fall and it couldn’t have hit me at a better time in my life. Let’s rewind, that is to say not the best time in my life. Working shit jobs, literally, longing for the ladies, missing my friends from college, and worrying what will happen next. This tape was/is my elixir. KC has a fire in his belly I simply don’t hear in most other artists. The emotion is real and raw. He records alone in his room, belting out shrieks in that fiery Jay Reatard spirit. Short, simple pop songs with Ty Segall guitar hooks and the Descendents’ angst. It may sound familiar, you may think you’ve heard this before, you may be wrong.
Back Pages’ Singles 13′ compiles five previous bandcamp only releases all from 2013: JuSst ttaht stuipod, Break It All Off, Darkness Creeps Over, Broken In Again, and Can’t Be Saved. Now, you can have them all (15 songs) all on one neat little cassette, all bundled up together. ORDER HERE: http://klyam.bigcartel.com/product/back-pages-singles-13
Here’s a new video from KC:

Introducing Ben Katzman’s Degreaser

Ben Katzman’s Degreaser is cummin’ 7/4/14 but I think we all know BK’s Degreaser is already here. BUFU Records royalty’s solo album drops on that date and yeah yeah what a fine Fourth is in store. I didn’t really know what to expect from Ben – the dude has some deep-rooted metallic tendencies, although anything is seemingly possible with him. “Dance With A Hopeless Romantic” is a possible preview of what’s to come here and it sure is slick. Like THE LOCOMOTION subverted, powered into a spunky anthem. True fun and that’s what Degreaser is all about.
Band of the Week/Recommendation: NOTS (Memphis)

Look at what we have here – a new Band of the Week (but by all indications it will be months upon months and beyond) and that is Memphis trio NOTS. These three women play ain’t no messing around PUNK rock. A noisy, shouty force of goodness. Their debut 7″ came through on Goner (streaming below), their next 7″ is also coming on Goner later this month, and yes yes yes in November there seems to be an LP heading our way. Courtesy of Goner Goner Goner. Clearly that venerable label knows what’s good in their backyard! Can’t wait to post more NOTS here on KLYAM!
They’ve got a 7″ Release Show with Buck Biloxi and the Fucks and Nervs on June 21 at The Buccaneer Lounge.
