The Art of the Human Body

AOL NEWS
NEW YORK (Aug. 27) – It seems the only nudes allowed at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art are the ones in the collection.

Police say they arrested a 26-year-old woman who was posing naked for a photographer, and in full view of visitors, in the museum’s arms and armor department on Wednesday.Model Kathleen “K.C.” Neill faces a charge of public lewdness.

Defense attorney Donald Schechter says the museum is full of nude art, and to call what the model and her photographer were doing obscenity “is ridiculous.”

Photographer Zach Hyman directed the shoot. He’s been getting some attention locally for photographing nude models on subways.

Hyman has said he’s inspired by nude paintings at the Met and his photos are not pornographic.

Some people just can’t appreciate fine art.

Jens Lekman Wants Your Money!

Jens Lekman’s Official Website
Just a quick note about the previous entry, please be aware that I live in Melbourne, Australia these days and I can’t fly halfway across the world for a slice of cake. As much as I’m in it for the fun of it, I was hoping to for once make some money here to support my tours that I always lose money from. Basically, if you want to book me for a wedding anywhere outside of Oceania this upcoming year you should start sweet talking that rich uncle of yours right now.

Also, I want to set up as many shows as possible in Melbourne and Australia the next couple of months. And I noticed earlier this year that there’s a lot of small festivals in peoples gardens and living rooms, I want to do stuff like that. Small shows where I can try out new songs and new arrangments. Give me a shout if you got something !

No topic for this month, I still have a few hundred e-mails from the last months that I need to go through. So if you want to write, choose one of the previous topics.

Haha I love this guy.

China: Attack Major House Churches

Christian Post
The Chinese government has reportedly issued a secret directive to crack down on at least several major house churches in Beijing, a U.S.-based group reported Tuesday.

ChinaAid Association, a religious freedom group with a focus on house churches in China, was informed by sources inside the country that the public security bureau has ordered the Beijing Huajie Plaza to terminate its rental contract with the Beijing Shouwang house church.

The Shouwang house church is one of the largest house churches in the area with more than 1,000 members. For a few years now, it has rented two floors for worship service and Sunday school at the Huajie Plaza. Most of the members are intellects from nearby universities.

This is not the first time authorities have pressured the church. Last May authorities raided the church and most recently in April, government officials forcibly shut down Shouwang Church’s Web site.

Reports of similar pressure to prevent church gatherings at other Beijing house churches have also been reported this month, ChinaAid said.

Communist China sucks!

Loch Ness: Monster or Boat

Telegraph.co.uk
Earlier this week a British security guard claimed to have found the legendary creature using Google’s satellite mapping programme.

The image, which can be seen by entering coordinates Latitude 57°12’52.13″N, Longitude 4°34’14.16″W in Google Earth, depicts a large object resembling a sea creature clearly visible beneath or on the surface of the water

Adrian Shine, a researcher on the Loch Ness project, called the new images “really intriguing” and said they deserved further study.

Following the report Google announced that its specially-altered trike camera – which is able to take eye-level images of areas that are inaccessible to Street View’s camera cars – would be sent to Loch Ness on Thursday.

But it has now been suggested that the images are not of the mysterious creature but of the Ness Express, a boat which regularly tours the loch.

CD Review: Skin and Bones

Band: Flashy Python (Alec Ounsworth of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah)
Release: 2009

1. “Let Us Hallucinate Together” – 9.2
2. “The Lady Is A Ghost” – 9.7
3. “Ichiban Blues” – 9.2
4. “Skin and Bones” – 9.4
5. “Obscene Queen Bee” – 9.8
6. “In the Darkness” – 9.6
7. “Cattle’s New Clothes” – 9.1
8. “Avalon’s Snake Breath” – 10.0

Comment: If anything can be said about Alec Ounsworth it’s that there is really no limit to what he can produce. His voice can work wonders on just about any song. The album is filled with what I would like to call psychedelic folk…it’s more intricate than what we know as folk and it’s faster and deeper than pure modern neo-psychedelia.

Final Grade: 9.5 out of 10
