3 Years Ago Today…
Three years ago today, KLYAM beloved Jay Reatard passed away. If we hadn’t heard Jay’s music, this site would be totally different. Through discovering Jay, we learned of the larger garage/punk rock happenings that shape our current tastes. Nobunny, Hunx, Box Elders, Barbaras, Oblivians, I could go on and on. Jay was intense, vile, dangerous, but above all honest. He could pack in all of this emotion into one little pop song, and he could do at the age of 16. His discography encompasses over ten years worth of music, I recommend you check out any or all of it.
