Before becoming a pop star, Ke$ha attended Black Lips shows.
Actually, probably not. Cole crafted an elaborate story about how Ke$ha’s brother is in Cheap Time and is tight with Be Your Own Pet and Black Lips opened for that band and thus Ke$ha saw the Lips.
In honor of the recent, extremely important news (Black Lips playing the Paradise April 14!!!) the Song of the Day is one of my Lips’ faves “Dirty Hands,”- acoustic, live in Jerusalem, Israel.
Old King Cole Younger, the alias of Cole Alexander of Black Lips, will be playing what looks to be his first show (ever?) tonight in Philadelphia. At least a few Philly newspapers are reporting that he is opening for lo-fi psychedelic band Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti. Is this true? If so, this is great.
