I like the Whigs version better. I like how it expands upon the barebones Clash version.
I really dig this segment Andrew, good idea. I’d have to go with The Clash, being a big fan, I think their “barebones” quality fits the song perfectly.
Thanks, as you might have guessed from previous post I am a big Afghan Whigs fan, so I got to go with their version. Actually the Afghan Whigs are famous for doing Motown covers so I was actually looking for one of thoese to start off with, particularly this great Freda Payne cover of ‘Band of Gold’, but I found this in the process and it had a real good feel to it. I think I will do a Motown song and a modern cover next though.
