  2. Yes, of course. The Adverts are pretty sweet and yeah I know Jay covered their “We Who Wait” on his Blood Visions LP. In fact, the first time I saw Jay live, none other than TV Smith from The Adverts was the opener.

  3. He didn’t have trouble with the word “queue” did he for his version of “We who wait”, did he? The south isn’t a natural place to be very exposed to British words and expressions, I guess. I like the mention of the “fag machine”.

    That he covered that song is one reason I think his sensibilities were closer to mine than those of others featured on this blog. It’s seems so wrong that he’s no longer around. He had a really good influence on these people. I mean some weeks back I went to a series of shows and everyone seemed to want to sing like they’re from the south or something, and I thought, here we go again, just like it was before he became influential, before we had this southerner singing like he was English.
