Gravys Drop is Billy Grave, who I know as the drummer of Nobunny (circa 2009 Shattered Tour). Also of Rock N Roll Adventure Kids. Great dude. Great tunes.

There’s this tribute record called Daddy Rockin’ Strong: A Tribute to Nolan Strong. Mark Sultan’s brilliant vocals are on display in a cover track called “The Wind.” It’s quite an R&B ditty. The Dirtbombs, too, made a great cover of “Daddy Rockin’ Strong.”

Cover Me Songs — the best covers blog I’ve encountered — posted this video of Lissie covering Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness.” That song was one of my favorite hip-hoppers of 2009, but I’ll tell you this spirited cover might just be a tad better.
